I see it time and time again.
No matter what success we achieve it’s hard to feel like we’ve made it.
There’s Always Something
We are yet to do.
Or make happen.
A problem that first needs to be resolved.
We might be like Atlas having hoisted the world on our shoulders.
But maybe we shrugged a little on the way up.
Still not good enough.
When I Get Rid Of The Shrug…
Then I’ll be happy.
When we’re no longer bothered by this.
Worried about that.
Concerned for what else might happen.
There’s too often something that stands in our way.
It’s Not Our Fault
Not a lack of gratitude.
Perspective.
Failing to see our lives or the world this or that way.
Something we’re doing wrong.
Or must change.
It’s Our Biology
The survival machine we inhabit isn’t set up for made it.
But to constantly scan for what might end it.
Our minds are engineered for negativity.
Worry. Fear.
What might go wrong hardwired into the machine.
There is nothing we can do about the hardware but we can run different software.
The Getting There Program
Is what I call the program that holds us back from feeling we’ve arrived.
To that outdated program in the brain something else must first happen.
We must do something.
Get somewhere.
Become someone.
It’s wrong.
All we must do is rewrite the code.
