You know something strange I’ve discovered?
It’s that we’re NEVER really seeking what we think we want.
Not saying you don’t actually want it.
I’m saying that behind that “thing” is MERELY a feeling.
That’s what you want.
The experience you get from this thing that you “think” you want.
You know the problem?
The feeling is fleeting.
We all know this, don’t we?
You dream of getting that house or job or partner or money or whatever…
And then you get it!
You feel this way for, how long?
How long do you get this BUZZ from this thing you so much wanted?
REALLY think about this for a moment
I mean, REALLY.
Take something in your life that you said you REALLY wanted.
Since he was a kid, a client had a number in mind for how much money he wanted.
Back then, that was a HUGE number.
As he began building his career, and began surrounding himself with high achieving people…
Including at Harvard Business School…
Well, that number was still a good number.
Then he achieved it!
Actually, he exceeded it by 50%+.
Was it ENOUGH?
Did he feel like he’d made it?
Yes in many ways, he still does.
Yet, in other ways, almost IMMEDIATELY his brain was seeking what’s next.
How about you?
Thinking about that thing you really wanted, how long were you SATIATED by it?
Moving the goalposts…
There’s tons of phrases that we use to describe this “CONDITION.”
But all of them FAIL…
Because we’re still left with the feeling!!
Doesn’t matter at all how you label it.
All that matters is you keep achieving and you keep being left with that feeling.
What’s the feeling?
How do you describe it?
It’s one of the ways I describe the Getting There Program I often write about.
But there’s a much simpler, more generic word I use for this too.
The human lives in LACK.
It’s the most fundamental characteristic of being human.
The human condition as they call it is lack.
Even the word “condition” can be utilized in its form “conditional.”
Meaning, the way us humans think and feel is conditional.
It’s based on certain conditions being met or unmet.
That’s why so many people can be miserable stuck in their homes.
Their “happiness” is conditional on having a life!!
Doing all those things they perceive “MAKES” them feel how they want.
It’s basic cause and effect.
Yet, again, as we started with…
How they felt and now feel has NOTHING to do with those things.
I guarantee you that when we’re all let out of our homes…
Almost immediately people’s brains will now focus on that next thing that’s now lacking.
You might be the exception
And I do sincerely hope you are!
If you are someone who can feel amazing irrespective of conditions…
Then hells yeah, you are the person I’ve been looking for.
I want to know what you do in your mind so you never think about all those things that you wish were different.
So unlike most people, you never spend your life thinking if it wasn’t for ABC…
Or when you get XYZ, then you’ll feel amazing.
You might be a human that NEVER lives in lack.
Who is constantly celebrating your abundance.
Grateful for what you have.
You’re someone who completely gets that no matter what you have or don’t have…
You choose exactly how you think and feel.
Will and skill of think and feel
This to me is the ENTIRE game of being human.
So many of us will SPEND the rest of our life running…
Just so desperately hoping that when they have ESCAPED some condition.
Or they have achieved some next condition…
Well, then, whoa!!
Their life is everything they had dreamed.
But when you see through this illusion.
And you INTEGRATE that the ONLY thing that ever affects how you think and feel is you…
Then, only then, are you free from the human condition.
You have the will and skill to think and feel how you choose.
Is this realistic?
I live it…
Well, quite pathetically!!
I still fail at this far more than I succeed.
Meaning, if you’re serious about putting your mind and actions where you choose…
As my Ultimate Days System is built to do…
Then you want to measure your success according to how many SECONDS a day you are living this.
100% is my target, and most days I’m averaging 67%-81%, at best!
For me, there are still way too many seconds a day that I fall for that old human condition.
But each and every time you do, can also be your greatest reminder to keep training your will and skill.
That’s the game here.
Practicing thinking and feeling how you choose.
Every second you practice this the more automatic it becomes in you.
So, even if right now it might seem like whoa, I’ve gotta MONITOR and shift my thoughts…
Well, as soon as you’re doing it, you quickly find these ways of being become natural to you.
I’m not saying that this is what you REALLY want…
To train your brain and nervous system to think and feel how you want…
But it is the ONLY PERMANENT solution to what you do REALLY WANT—
The feeling your life is everything it can be.
Everything else not so strangely, quickly fades away.
