I call it mssmr.
The voice in your head.
You might not be auditory dominant like me that means there’s a voice constantly yammering about this or that.
“Oh, remember this.”
“I think that.”
“I feel…”
Inner voice
That’s the psychology term we’re all familiar with.
But what does it even mean?
For starters mssmr lacks vocal cords so it’s clearly different to a voice, right?
To me it sounds more like a computer murmuring mssmr this, mssmr that.
Also the voice changes, so it’s not just a voice.
So what is it?
Who cares?
“Why do you care so much about this?” an old teacher asked.
Um… why wouldn’t you care so much about this voice in your head all day every day every second of your life?
What’s happening in your head is your experience of your life!
“Don’t you want to know what’s going on with that?”
A voice constantly saying “I” impersonating you?
I didn’t, till I became aware what it is.
Not you
It’s “normal” to never think about this and go through your life thinking the thoughts in your head are you.
That’s why all schools of thinking begin with understanding you are different to your thoughts.
What is a thought, anyways?
Is the inner voice a thought?
Where does it come from?
How is it you can be going about your day doing this or that and now you have this thought pop into your head out of where?
Who is you?
Study thinking you find yourself asking all sorts of questions like this and getting to “beyond-normal” answers.
You learn the brain is an automatic thinking machine like your heart is an automatic blood pumping machine.
The brain is having thoughts you are aware of like you are aware of blood pumping in your veins.
You are more than your heart and every drop of blood as well as your brain and every thought.
And the magical thing being conscious is you can choose.
You choose
I’ve got so many millions of iterations now programming that brain we have the most fun parties in the head.
Some 70,000+ thoughts a day on average you have in that head of yours, untrained 70-90% negative 🙁
Whether it’s a voice or pictures or movies or however you experience it’s a negativity factory.
All this just going on all the time inside you like pumping blood is totally normal.
We’re making normal training your best brain.
Mssmr
What’s so fascinating is you’re never taught anything about this.
Your entire life you run around with this incredible computer in your head you’re never taught how to best use.
This means many of us struggle upstairs and many others leave much of their potential on the table because you’re never taught to best use this most amazing organ.
Even writing about mssmr I get is beyond normal but it’s the most magical thing to me.
You can train mssmr for what you want it to be.
