It feels good to be winning.
Winning you’re running with wind at your back.
It’s easier to keep winning when you’re winning.
Winning is more fun too, isn’t it?
Winning is winning.
Winning
What is winning for you? This is what counts.
Same with this thing called “success.” There’s no universal definition just what success and winning mean to you.
Because I saw this as a young professional you’re already “successful” just to have broken into a profession and established a career and so by the definition of “success” and “winning” many had already won. But also many like me were questioning, is this it? Is this success? How winning feels?
I didn’t know. It felt like winning in some ways, but still had me asking questions like, is this the life you dreamed as a kid? What do you truly want?
Is this winning the game of life?
Game of life
I didn’t get it back then.
When I started this work I was confused about a lot of things.
Like how could I have worked so hard to achieve “success” and still not feel I was winning? And what does it even mean to be winning in life? Is it about your career, relationships, having a “successful” family?
All this in your 20s can be so hard as you’re trying to figure out what it means to be winning this game of life now and for the rest of your life.
No wonder few of us seem to be loving playing this game of life. Back then I wanted to know, what game of life do you love playing?
What game?
I didn’t know… And it didn’t feel much like a fun game.
Because who even teaches you what this game of life is about?
Is it meant to be fun? How many of our parents had fun?
Are you meant to have a family? Achieve? Get rich?
Have a good job? Build a business? Chill out?
And when?
Because the games of life you play change over time, but it’s not always easy to see it this way. Many of these decisions feel life-defining, make or break, but few are. This is the journey of life.
This made it much easier for me to see the big questions you can find yourself asking like “What do you truly want?” aren’t these big questions you’re meant to answer right now for the rest of your life.
Might just be a now what? A what now? What you want now, or what you do for now.
Figuring out what you truly want is more about moving forward tasting time.
Winning is the journey and destination.
Winning now and then
Why not win all ways? Win all the time? Win on your journey now and destination then?
People say ‘it’s all about the journey man,’ but then only point to those who achieved a successful destination.
The homeless guy isn’t speaking at TED because winning is your journey and destination.
And in this game of life you get to choose.
What is winning for you?
Winning for you?
Winning for me is doing what you want 🙂
Yeah, it’s true, lots of hard things come with doing what you want and also lots of doing what you don’t want!
This is winning for me because doing what you want is living the life you truly want.
It is playing your best game every day loving your journey and destination.
What is winning for you?
