That’s how I see it.
You do whatever it takes for long as it takes for you to reach your target.
The thing with this though is it must be a labor of love.
If you’re doing this like sacrifice you’re toast.
Do it coz you love it.
Loving it
I’ve hit a point in my game where I’m absolutely loving it.
So many things I’ve worked on for 25 years and 15 doing this as my profession has kept me building to this place.
My stomach is way bigger than my eyes. What I feel is possible I cannot see.
So over decades I’ve built methods to keep chasing the unseen.
And I’m loving it, now.
Not loving it
This is still hard as heck for me in some ways.
I’ve only just started writing again and being public is ramping up fast on X and other channels.
Your time is now. I’ve already used more time than I thought might be allotted and I must stay on task.
There was a time this was impossibly hard for me but I refused to take my foot off the gas because it mattered most I keep driving forward.
I wasn’t loving it but had no alternative to drive forward and build the solutions for loving it along the way.
“And”
And is always the word.
It’s expansive, opens up possibilities, whereas “Or” divides us apart.
And is what you need if you are to go on journeys of doing stuff that’s hard as you must be loving the journey and the destination.
If you’re chasing the successful outcome so you can be fulfilled you’ll forever be chasing.
Whereas if you’re chasing the successful outcome already fulfilled you’ve already won.
Love hard
This is one thing that has transformed for me.
I’ve done so many cycles on this and figured out how to keep putting the body and brain in the best place while you’re doing hardest things.
You know it’s gonna be hard doing hard things striving towards a target and also you’re full whole complete along the way.
Like the flow state you can live in these peak states loving how you’re feeling and what you’re doing even when it’s hardest.
Coz it doesn’t matter you’re not at the outcome yet, or maybe never will be, you’re fulfilled in this moment.
Why?
You must know why you do what you do.
Like, really, why?
Client tells a story about not knowing what he wanted to do and going to this wise man who shared with him a page of words and said, “Look at this page for 30 seconds and tell me the word that jumps out at you?”
The word he said was “injustice” and this wise fellow pointed out this word never appeared on the page!
“Justice” was on the page and my friend had added his why, fighting injustice. What is your why?
Whatever it takes
I’ll tell you my why.
I do whatever it takes to see this work through. I don’t know why just it’s the deepest certainty in me.
There are certain things I am focused on doing in mind and in the world and I must keep accelerating.
It’s also what I most love doing all the time.
The most amazing journey of whatever it takes.
