You need hope, don’t you?
Without hope, how can you be motivated to keep taking steps forward?
EASILY, when you’re operating at a higher level beyond hope.
To be sure, you would much prefer to have more hope, rather than less.
But even when things are HOPELESS truly great people keep driving forward.
Motivation vs. DRIVE
That’s what Elon Musk is talking about in this clip—
You know, I think my sort of drive to get it done is somewhat disconnected from hope, enthusiasm or anything else. I just actually just don’t care about hope. Or enthusiasm or motivation, and just give it everything I’ve got, irrespective of what the circumstances may be. You just keep going and get it done.
It’s a powerful distinction, isn’t it?
Do you agree?
You see the point I’m making after Elon in this video is—
Yes, there is so much to be said for having more hope, enthusiasm, motivation, a powerful why, and so on.
But, as I say, “People who have Definite Purpose are operating at a higher level, beyond needing that.”
Definite Purpose
Definite Purpose is Principle 2 in the system that I decoded from Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos for rocketing to the top of the world, FAST.
I shared with you last week a clip from Jeff talking about his mission-driven purpose at Blue Origin, which is a common theme you see from Jeff and Elon.
They’re mission-driven and step by step ferociously they drive forward with Definite Purpose.
This principle I’ve also seen countless times in my decades researching history’s greatest achievers.
And you might know it is the number ONE secret in my system for Doing What You Want.
This is the ABSOLUTE power of Definite Purpose.
“Give it EVERYTHING”
That’s one of my favorite lines from Elon in this clip.
You hear how definite it is, don’t you?
It’s binary, black and white, simple in his mind.
There is no in between.
You are either giving it EVERYTHING, or you’re not.
Said differently, your drive ISN’T conditional, wavering based on how you feel on a certain day.
It is ABSOLUTE—you show up and drive no matter what.
That’s not to say this is “healthy” or the right choice for you, but it is clearly right for Elon.
How about you?
How’s your drive?
Are you in the zone?
Hands on the wheel?
Driving forward with Definite Purpose?
Why? Why not?
