One of my clients is focused on optimizing his energy.
Now, if you met this guy you would say he already has a ton of energy, but as with all of my clients, he is looking for ways to take it to the next level.
Over time we have focused on the big things—mental energy, sleep, nutrition, etc.—and in fine-tuning his process we turned our attention to his morning routine.
He works long hours and travels a lot, and like many of us has a habit of hitting snooze in the morning, when instead he wants to bounce out of bed full of vitality.
So rather than dragging and getting moving slowly, like Rocky throwing a few eggs into the blender to get started, we wanted to create for him a new routine.
One tool we applied was, as he was falling asleep at night, to have him mentally rehearse waking up and bouncing out of bed.
Another approach was for him to, as soon as he wakes up, jack himself into his iPod and listen to an energizing song or one of my custom audio recordings.
And while these tools were somewhat helpful for him, he came up with a better way to get himself pumped up in the morning.
As soon as his alarm goes off, he rolls out of bed, hits the floor, and does 10 push-ups.
Give it a shot, and you’ll notice how pumped you get for your day!
