A: One chunk at a time.
Yeah I know it’s not a good joke, but it’s a good metaphor for getting what you want.
People often say to me: “It seems your work is for everyone, not just Wall Street, right?”
Absolutely, like Jeff Bezos starting The Everything Store by selling books, it is just the first of my chunks.
Wall Street are my people.
My story, my journey, my work for years was dedicated to Wall Street and it is where I wanted to start serving.
But, yes, of course, Wall Street is just the first chunk.
When I set out to transform my career I had no idea it would lead me to transform my life, and in doing so I’ve spent a good fifteen years focused on all the topics we think about in our lives.
To me, the work I do is not personal development or self-help, or whatever, it is education.
It is the stuff we wish we learned early in life so we could make our way through the world as pleasurably as possible.
Too many of us are suffering our way through our days and it is CURABLE.
I know this because I went out and found the cure.
I first did it for myself, and now I am dedicated to sharing my work with many others like you and me.
I don’t know how I will fulfill my grandest vision for my work, and I don’t need to know.
The point of eating an elephant one chunk at a time is that you can never do everything at once right now all at the same time…
Instead, take this big goal you have been grappling with and break it down.
Take steps everyday. Drink a lot of water. Enjoy the ride.
