Plenty of things I would change.
Looking back on my life well lived (so far) there are plenty of things I would do differently.
That’s a mark of my life well lived (so far) because I’ve done and changed a lot and you’re never gonna get it all right.
Like I haven’t had a committed relationship for decades as it takes a wonder woman to fit my life of doing what you want!
Would I change this? Maybe, other things too, I’m always changing.
C’est la vie
Love comes and goes.
But one thing remains doing what you want is a life of change.
My buddy Adam says people tell him all the time “you’ve changed so much” since they were in college together decades ago and he’s like of course I have, he’s lived a life of constantly growing and changing while they’ve remained much the same.
Doing the same things, surrounded by same people, never reading, developing, building.
If you’re changing and growing it means you’re making new choices and not all you’ll get right.
Never regret.
Learn
There are these women I’ve loved…
Hahahaha, I could go down this path or how much you can be loving your life with your partner and loving your life on your own.
Secret to your best life is knowing what truly matters to you and loving living your best way.
Most friends and clients are happily married with kids as this is their best life.
Others are unhappily married or single and this is the best they can do.
You learn doing.
Doing life
There is an inner game of life I’m obsessed with playing.
This is the game of your brain simulating your reality I might start writing more about this obsession for me.
The bigger picture here is seeing you have an external life and an internal life experience that are entirely different and disconnected.
In your life outside you’re seeing and doing all these things in the world while inside you’re having an entirely unique experience.
This is why people with fabulous lives can be miserable inside and the opposite is also true.
Being life
You might have heard the phrase, “You’re not a human doing, you’re a human being.”
Well, you’re both, an automatic doing machine automatically thinking, feeling and taking action.
This is happening automatically in the “doer” which is why even most basic habits such as weight loss or addiction can be near impossible to change.
Like your heart is automatically beating some 100,0000 times some 85,000 thoughts a day are flooding that brain, 80-90% negative and redundant 🙁
This is the will and skill of a conscious human being, no matter what you’re doing or have done choosing who you are now being.
Choice
“Choice, the problem is choice,” Neo says to the architect in The Matrix.
In his simulated world choice is the game, and so too here in your game of life.
You can see your life as branched decision-trees where every choice you make sets you off in a different reality.
Looking back over your life you see there is one life you’ve lived and infinite lives you have not lived.
At each point in time you must choose and all choices create and cut off other realities.
Choose wisely.
Minimize regrets
It’s funny for me, thinking of this concept of minimizing regrets I come back to this framework from Jeff Bezos.
You see it’s a powerful framework for making life changing decisions but I never think at all about regret.
For me it’s more about FOMO, like come on, I want to taste it all and live your most fabulous life.
And yeah in my most fabulous life (so far) there’s plenty of choices and things I might change.
That’s a mark of a life well lived, zero regrets.
